Amy: Okay, so I have been totally unproductive this week, but it's not my fault. We didn't realize that toward the end of my hospital stay, I was coming down with Mono. I technically already had it, since once you get it the first time, it stays in your body, but we didn't realize it'd become active again. I was showing a few symptoms, but we thought they were just side effects of some of my meds. We didn't realize anything was wrong until I woke up at 6am on Sunday with a high fever that lasted for several hours, until my sister got me some water and Tylenol, since I was too sick to get it myself.

My mom thinks my fever only got so high because I exhausted myself coming home from the hospital and putting everything away the night before. After I had the Tylenol, I slept until 7pm and my fever never got that high again, so it seems to be tied to how much I exert myself. For that reason, I've mostly been staying in bed, playing on my iPad or sleeping. I'm doing better now. All of the symptoms except the fatigue and fever have passed, and those have at least improved. I did TRY to make the bag for my bow and arrows to go with my Yona costume, but when I went over to Blaze's grandma's today so we could work on my cloak, she examined my attempt at sewing and decided that she should make it and I should stick to crocheting. ^^; So she's making both my cloak and my bag for me.

Other than that, I have everything I need, I think. I've been trying to work on detangling the ponytails for my Clara costume as I feel up to it, but I'm having a bit of trouble since I don't have a good place to hang them while I comb them. I've at least got one detangled enough that it'll look okay with my costume, and I only really need one, but the other is a disaster and I would like to fix it if possible. I need to detangle my Aira wig too.

Tikal and Blaze are pretty much set too. Blaze has all her stuff, including a dark purple bang clip for her Miranda the Cat cosplay. Tikal also has the temporary orange hair dye for her Heather the Echidna cosplay. The one thing she doesn't have is makeup brushes, though I told her which ones I need to do her makeup. Which reminds me, I need to start practicing on my sister... I also need to finish Tikal's tail... I think I've got an idea for how to do it though. Something that involves as little sewing as possible. ^^;

Chao for now!

A good way to untangle a wig is to get it wet and brush it. I've even heard of people using shampoo on them, but I don't know what kinds are safe, but you would need a wig head to brush it properly when it's wet.
