I've made a resolution

Amy: No, not a New Year's resolution. It's a few weeks early for that. But I've come to realize why my art didn't place in the contest at TnT. It's because, no matter how correct the anatomy, no matter how perfect the line art or how beautifully shaded, my drawings lack impact. Why? Because I don't make use of perspective. In nearly all my drawings, viewers are looking at the characters straight on, instead of being drawn into the scene. The closest thing I have that does that is my newer picture of Sweet Strength. In order to make my art good enough to be competitive, I've gotta make it more dynamic.

Therefore, I have made a decision that I will not enter the contest next July unless I am able to draw the picture I have in mind and have it look good. And to do that, I will have to practice using perspective. I may make a bunch of "dump" sketches. Things that I draw for practice and never intend to complete, although I might complete them if they actually look good.

What I hope to pull off eventually is a very "in your face" picture of Clara attacking with her wand. I make multiple sketches of said drawing until I'm satisfied with it over the next few months. I have to have it finished by early July so I can get the print in time.

I think I'll start working while I'm at the hospital, but first I need to get some other stuff done, like fixing up the chapters of Prima Power, editing and posting my playthrough of Sonic Boom, and maybe writing some new chapters of stories.
